I don't have a title for this... [July 28th|4.17pm]
Once again my parents will be leaving the house for a few days and I'll be on my own for the most part. A close friend of mine (who acts almost like my God-given Yakushiji) will be with me for the three days, and it should prove to be a good time. I'm looking forward to seeing her tonight, and I can't imagine why anything would go wrong.

Now that that topic is out of the way...

Recently, I joined a community known as the Inaba Rating Community. It's an interesting place theme toward Persona 4 with various themes and "quizes" or sorts for one to take to see how they relate to the Persona 4 cast or what character they seemed to be most like. I've taken two of the quizes (one for seeing which character I am most like, and another to see which I'd date--or that's what it sounded like, anyway) and thus far I've gotten four responses to the personality quiz, all of which have claimed I'm most like Naoto.

Edit:

Well, I've just gotten the results. I've been officially stamped as...

...Somehow, this doesn't come as a shock to me. Still, I'd much rather people claim I was like Naoto rather than come up with bizarre stories about how ATLUS stalked me to create Naoto's character--that one began to stop being amusing after the tenth person or so claimed it must have happened. I don't wish to become paranoid over such a silly matter...

Well, this weekend was eventful... [July 26th|9.54pm]
I was asked to help out with my Grandma's 40-year high school reunion.

Rather, it was my mother who was asked to help, but she, in turn, asked me to help her. She was asked to come and take pictures and she was paid a rather generous sum for it. (She got paid $250+ to take pictures and I was paid $20... somehow I feel cheated, but it's better than not being paid at all, I guess.)

The entire night wasn't as boring as you might think it would be. For being in their fifties and sixties, they were a nice bunch. Energetic and fun to be around.

The first few hours were pretty calm, mostly involving people arriving at the club and having their picture taken and then eating dinner. It was once the music started playing that thins got rather... interesting. It's impossible to recount everything that happened, and if I did, this journal would be far too long and boring for anyone to read (if anyone reads it, that is) and I'd most likely bore everyone.

However, I must say... Watching a group of seniors dance to "Love Shack" and "The ChaCha Slide" was utterly amusing. I'm just sad that I didn't have a camera capable of taking video with me. Such a shame...

Still, I did enjoy the karaoke. Next to watching the ChaCha Slide, watching a small group of singers singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" made the night worth it.

Something different... [July 25th|12.18am]

I don't think there is a single normal journal entry on this entire account. Thus far, all my posts have been the (un-beta'd) versions of various fanfiction I've already written--or the draft of something I'd just completed. In any case, I feel that I should start using this journal for its intended purpose and... Well, use it as a journal.

Though, to be honest, I'm not sure what I should be talking about...

The most interesting event that has happened recently would probably have been my birthday. My parents were able to come home in time to take me out for dinner at a local Japanese restaurant... and I quite enjoyed that. After having spent my entire birthday alone... it was nice to see the two people who gave birth to me who I rarely see otherwise.

My gifts were wonderful as well, but it's odd to get so many gifts from my parents. Still, when they handed me the receipt for the Platinum Youmacon pass, I must admit, I let out a rather silly cheer of delight--but it was my birthday and I was allowed to act silly for a change. (I enjoyed the D.Gray-man and Death Note soundtracks as well, but I've yet to get a chance to read the books they got me.)

Other than that... I used some of my birthday money to buy Lux-Pain and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor, both of which are amazing games and I'm very much enjoying them. I also bought a wireless PS2 controller, but that is because my wired one is quite old and the buttons were either not working, or randomly activating themselves (and having Rush Mode turn on in the middle of Mitsuo's Shadow or the battle with Izanami isn't the most pleasant experience.)

I'm sure I find more things to talk about later, but for now, I'll cut this entry short and leave it as it is.

Forgotten [April 18th|10.37pm]
Title: Forgotten
Series: Persona 4
Rating: K+
Pairing: SoujixNaoto
Summary: With Nanako in the hospital, the pillar of strength Souji tried so hard to be for his friends begins to crumble. With only an empty house and voice-mail to greet him each day, the silence presses in on him--have his friends forgotten him? SoujixNaoto

Silence. The sound Souji had somberly gotten used to opening the front door to for over a week. He no longer heard the warm, happy voice of his cousin who greeting him with a warm "Welcome home, big bro" and a smile, or the--on the rare occasion that it happened--"Hey there" from Dojima.

He'd quickly adjusted to it, of course. He had simply moved to a new house for the time being, this was just another transfer and instead of his parents sending him to a family friend or relative, he was using an apartment in a small city temporarily until they returned from overseas again. At least, that's what he tried to tell himself whenever the silence pressed too close and became too loud to stand.

Still, despite knowing that it was hopeless, Souji couldn't help but glance into the living room hopefully each time he walked through the door. As if the warm voice might greet him again-- as if he'd see Nanako's warm smile as he came home after a long day, and it would have all turned out to be a bad dream.

But it was false hope and he knew it.

Eternity [Dangerous Territory, Part 2] [April 18th|10.36pm]
“…I suppose you’re not going to explain what that meeting was about?” Naoto asked as Souji stepped out onto the patio of the Shirogane estate, offering Naoto an apologetic smile. He held up the detective’s familiar blue coat, giving it a small shake, silently asking her to turn around.

“It's supposed to get colder as the day goes on, so you might need this.”

“You’re avoiding the question, Senpai.” The sleuth muttered softly, slowly turning around and extending an arm, reluctantly allowing Souji to assist her in putting her coat on. “From Yakushiji-san’s reluctance to speak and your own desire to hide this from me—as well as Grampa’s—I have to assume that whatever it has something to do with myself. Therefore I believe that I have the right to know what—mmnfgh…” Naoto’s words were cut off as a pair of lips pressed against her own, effectively stopping the sleuth’s thoughts before they could finish forming.

“I promise I'll explain myself before the day is out.”

Dangerous Territory [April 18th|10.32pm]
Title: Dangerous Territory
Series: Persona 4
Rating: K+
Pairing: SoujixNaoto
Summary: Few things in this world have ever scared Souji Seta. Smart, understanding, diligent and strong, he's met and conquered every obstacle he's ever faced, but now he must wonder into dangerous territory as he faces something more powerful then even Izanami.

A pair of brown eyes watched Souji Seta pace back and forth across his room. His hands were clasped behind his back, nervously twitching and wringing them together like a man awaiting bad news. He stopped pacing and glanced at the clock, groaning softly as he realized he still had at least an hour to wait before he could leave the house. His appointment—a very important appointment, this meeting could not be missed—was in two hours, but he planned to leave the house an hour early to calm his nerves on the walk to his destination. The pacing resumed and the brown eyes blinked in confusion, a small pout forming on young lips.

“Big Bro… You need to calm down. If you keep this up, you’re gonna walk a rut in the floor, and dad won’t be very happy when he finds out the cost of repairs.”

“I’ll pay for it myself, Nanako.”

Nanako sighed, shaking her head slowly. It was obvious that her ‘big bro’s’ current mental state was in no condition to properly process anything that was said to him. She doubted he was even listening to her and only heard the word ‘cost’. Pushing herself forward off the old—vaguely faded—couch, the young girl crossed her arms as she walked around the table, stopping several feet short of Souji’s pacing line.

“Big bro, can I use the stove?”

Complicated [April 18th|10.25pm]
Title: Complicated
Series: Persona 4
Rating: K+
Pairing: SoujixNaoto
Summary: Keeping her emotions in control has always been a skill Naoto prided herself in, but around Souji, she loses control in the rush of complicated feelings she's never known before. Seventh in the 100-themes challenge

The first official meeting I had with Souji Seta occurred when he appeared before me in the Junes lobby, asking for any information I might have accumulated from my time spent with Kanji Tatsumi. His method of approach was very casual; he walked up to me and gave me his name. He never acted in a manner that suggested he might need the information for any questionable methods, nor did he do anything that would normally be considered suspicious. I didn’t tell him everything I knew, given the current state of the town of Inaba, with a murderer running around as he pleased. I couldn’t tell anyone—trustworthy or otherwise—about the case or any theories I’d since created myself.

As I watched him walk away once our conversation had come to a close, I made a note to keep a close eye on him and the group of friends I’d seen him wandering around the town with on a daily basis. He was involved with the case, but as for how much… I wasn’t sure. It was instinct that told me to keep Seta and his friends under my radar. While none of them were outwardly suspicious, and would look like normal high school students to most anyone who looked at them, I knew there was more to their group meetings at Junes then a simple gathering of friends. They way they moved and spoke with each other… something was going on, and I needed to know what it was.

Each of the members of what I now know to be the ‘investigation squad’ were easy to read. Their hobbies, likes and dislikes were easy to divulge from simply observing them from a distance or listening to small portions of their conversations. I admit, even as a detective I did not often fall into the position of a spy, tailing a person group of persons for a long period of time to observe them, but I needed to learn all I could about them to see their connection to the case—and it was easy enough to gather information on all of them… save for their leader.

Twilight [April 18th|10.23pm]
Title: Twilight
Series: Persona 4
Rating: T
Pairing: SoujixNaoto
Summary: The group has gathered together for a study session, but their studying is interrupted when Rise confronts Teddie on a very "important" matter. The seventh in my 100-themes challenge Implied SoujixNaoto and YosukexChie

“Everyday’s great at your Junes!”

Naoto bit back a groan as she heard the tune for the one-hundred and sixty-third time that afternoon. The infamous ‘investigation squad’ had gathered together for a group study session, and so far the only people who had actually managed to study anything at all were herself, Souji, and Yukiko. From the moment they took their seats, the jokes started and not a single book had been opened.

Teddie, the ring-leader of the chaos, was laughing loudly as Yosuke leaned across the table, failing madly as he struggled to grab the bear’s fur.

“TED! I swear if you don’t take it back-!”

Unbreakable [April 18th|10.17pm]
Title: Unbreakable
Series: Persona 4
Rating: T
Pairing: SoujixNaoto
Summary: Even the unbreakable collapse at some point, what keeps them from shattering completely is having someone with open arms to catch them when they finally fall. SoujixNaoto Sixth in the 100-theme challenge (collab with Fiyerna)

The long unending beep echoed in the otherwise silent hospital room. A pair of silver orbs widened in terror as he watch the dull brown ones below him slowly flickered shut. The weak grip on his hand died slowly as the frail hand fell from his, landing on the white mattress with a soft thump.

“…Seta-san?” Souji jumped and tore his gaze away from the now still figure of his cousin, staring up at the doctor, eyes still wide. “…I’m sorry, Seta-san.” The doctor muttered softly. “Are you—“

“…Excuse me.” The silverette muttered, stepping away from the bed, shaking his head slowly.

“Seta-san, are you alright? I think that---“

“Excuse me.” Souji repeated, brushing past the doctor as he stumbled across the room, his face pale. He fumbled with the doorknob, nearly falling on his face when he finally managed to push the door open and slip out into the hall.

“W-whoa! Partner, you okay? What happened? You look sick…” Souji glanced up, blinking slowly as he heard Yosuke’s voice, but didn’t register his words, the voices following his coming in a mixed blur, unable to tell who was speaking.

Simplicity [April 18th|10.15pm]
Title: Simplicty
Series: Persona 4
Rating: T
Pairing: SoujixNaoto
Summary: Neither of them have ever needed anything extravagant from the other, it's the simple effort of the gesture that matters most. The fourth in my 100-themes challenge SoujixNaoto (sorry this one was out of order)

“—And that’s the last step.” Yakushiji finished with a smile, nodding as Naoto followed his instructions easily. Picking up a large mixing spoon from the counter, she poked the dark, sludgy contents of the metal bowl in front of her, raising an eyebrow slowly. Is this… really going to be chocolate?

“Mix it until its smooth--almost silky in appearance—then use the syringe I gave you and fill the molds. When you’re finished, place the mold in the freezer. The fridge is more practical, but if you wish them to be done for tomorrow…” The secretary trailed off, a small smirk playing on his lips, making Naoto’s cheeks darken several shades, frowning.

Umbrella [April 18th|10.13pm]
Title: Umbrella
Series: Persona 4
Rating: K+
Pairing: SoujixNaoto
Summary: Based on a brief dungeon conversation. For once, Naoto comes to school unprepared, and Souji kindly offers his assistance. SoujixNaoto Number 5 in the 100-theme challenge

The soft hiss of heavy rain filled Naoto’s ears as she stood under Yasogami’s awning, watching the drops as they hit the ground. The sleuth sighed softly, pulling the fabric of her school uniform closer as a icy breeze picked up, sending a shiver down her spine. He’s running late…

“Naoto? What are you still doing here?” The sleuth jumped, turning around, eyes widening as they met a pair of silver orbs.

“S-Senpai, I…” Naoto paused hesitantly, glancing down at the ground. Don’t act childish. If you make a scene of it he’ll suspect foul-play. “I’m… waiting for Yakushiji-san. He doesn’t get off work for another hour and…”

“…And? Is something wrong?”

“I… forgot to check the weather this morning. I don’t have an umbrella with me. My home, as you know, isn’t close to the school and since you suggested we go into the TV world tomorrow, I cannot allow myself to risk getting a cold.” The sleuth sighed softly, staring out at the rain, frustrated. “If the storm had gotten any weaker, I would have simply run for it… but it only seems to be growing stronger and the school administration doesn’t approve of students lingering in the halls after club hours—otherwise I’d still be waiting inside.”

“I see…” Souji muttered softly, looking out into the rain, slowly turning the handle of his umbrella in his hands. “Naoto-kun, would you like to walk home together?”

“H-huh? Senpai, there isn’t any need for that. Yakushiji-san will—“

Love [April 18th|10.07pm]

Title: Love
Series: Persona 4
Rating: K+
Pairing: SoujixNaoto
Summary: Third of the 100 theme series. SoujixNaoto I never believed in the meaning of the word, but I'll do whatever it takes to make it real...As long as you're the one who shows me how.

The final bell rang and Naoto found herself unable to stand up, her legs suddenly no longer wanting to support her weight as her heart pounded in her chest. W-why am I so worried? I-it’s not like he doesn’t already know. I-I told him my true feelings yesterday, so why-?

“Hey, Naoto-kun! The bell rang, didn’t you hear it? Why are you still sitting at your desk? I thought you said you had something important to do after—“ Rise’s voice stopped as she idol noticed the letter clutched tightly in the sleuth’s hands, watching as the other’s knuckles slowly started to turn white. A letter?

She stepped forward, placing a hand on Naoto’s shoulder, nearly jerking backward as the detective jumped violently, her wide eyes darting around the room and looking for the source of disturbance.

“I—Rise-san. I-I apologize. I… must have gotten lost in my own thoughts. I—did you need something? I don’t have time to hang out today. I need to…” she trailed off, glancing at the letter in her hands with a calculating look, suddenly feeling nervous again. I’m… not sure if I can do this.

Only Human [April 18th|10.02pm]
Title: Only Human
Series: Persona 4
Rating: T
Pairing: SoujixNaoto
Summary: In the end, Naoto was only human and she couldn't hold down the painful, ugly feelings that she felt when she saw Souji walk away with Rise Kujikawa for two weeks. Second in the 100-theme SoujixNaoto challenge

Naoto watched silently as Souji walked past, as if he hadn’t even noticed her, making his way down the hall as if he hadn’t even seen her. She extended a hand forward, as it to grab his shoulder, freezing as she saw another girl run forward.

“Hey, Senpai! Right on time!” The sleuth watched in silence as Rise approached Souji, latching onto his arm the moment she was within reach, a bright smile on her face. “Ready to go?”

Souji nodded, an awkward smile on his face as he glanced around, the smile slowly melting into a frown. That’s odd…

“Senpai, is something wrong?”

“I—No, it’s nothing. Let’s go.” I could have sworn I saw Naoto… It doesn’t matter; I’d rather she didn’t know about this.

Introduction [April 18th|9.54pm]

Title: Introduction
Series: Persona 4
Rating: K+
Pairing: SoujixNaoto
Summary: First meetings aren't always what they seem and they're not always the best. When Naoto first met Souji she never imagined that she'd just met the man who--in a few short months--she'd be madly in love with. First of the SoujixNaoto 100-Theme challenge.

“…Kanji Tatsumi?” Naoto asked, frowning as she blinked slowly. “I have indeed spoken to him on several occasions.” This boy… I saw him in Tatsumi Textiles the day I went in to speak with Kanji Tatsumi’s mother.

“I was… wondering if you knew anything about him.” Souji said casually, “We… we go to the same school and we’ve been trying to speak with him. We’re classmates after all… But he seems to think we’re out to get him. I noticed that you’ve spoken to him before and he doesn’t seem to mind talking to you. I thought that—since he seems to have run off somewhere for the moment and we can’t ask the man himself—that we could see if anyone knew his interests. A common ground for us to approach him on.”

Naoto raised an eyebrow, clearly not believing a word Souji was saying. Of course, it is my job to detect lies. His eyes are meeting my own and he’s showing no signs of nervousness. Most anyone—perhaps even an officer—would easily be fooled. However… Why is he suddenly interested in Kanji Tatsumi, just after he’s appeared on TV? Collecting perhaps? No… he doesn’t seem the type. However… He seems to have befriended Yukiko Amagi who appeared on TV shortly before Kanji Tatsumi as well. …Of course, I cannot confirm if they were friends beforehand or not. But still… Something about him…

“You wish to know his interests?” She finally spoke, resting a hand on her hip, leaning her weight to the side as she spoke, carefully watching Souji’s reaction.

Life's Deductions [February 28th|10.22am]
Title: Life's Deductions
Series: Persona 4
Rating: T
Pairing: SoujixNaoto
Summary: Not everything in life follows one's deductions and even the greatest of detectives are thrown the curveballs of life. No real summary for this... spoilers for fortune S.Link
Authors Notes: This is my first Persona story ever (of all 4 games) although I doubt it will be my last. I hope you'll all help in as far as getting Naoto in character goes and you'll forgive me for not going well on my first shot. Should OOC annoy you...please turn back, but I made an effort to try and stay in her personality...

This story itself took a while to write, as I was on and off with the document all day. I posted this on fanfiction.net a long while back and people seemed to enjoy it, thus I felt it would be alright t post it here.

A detective is one who uses their mind to solve problems. They are trained to let logic and theory control their actions rather than their emotions, and they know to trust their gut feeling when it screams for them to do something. When it comes to making a choice in a split second, one is trained to quickly and logically weight the results of each decision in their mind in a manner of seconds, then act upon the conclusion they come to. Never trust anyone… and don’t let anyone close. The greatest minds of the world are often those of detectives. They notice the small details in everything and can notice the things a normal person wouldn’t even bother considering as evidence, carefully creating a conclusion-- which is almost always right-- to provide an answer that ends up helping a single or group of persons.

At least, that was how I saw them. Men of amazing talent, who could take even the hardest of puzzles and solve them in a matter of minutes. They were strong, brave and above all, brilliant. They were respected and listened to; looked up to, and not down upon. They were treated as adults, people of value, and were never left behind. Even if someone didn’t agree with that which was said, they always listened to what the detective had to say, and the detectives were always the first to be called when an answer couldn’t be found. That respect; the strength and bravery; the admiration. It was that that I wanted

The Shirogane family has been well known for generations for having the smartest and most skilled detectives of their time. My grandfather had told me countless stories about himself and my parents – the cases they’d solved and the people they'd helped… Every time I heard one, it made me want to raise myself to their level that much more. As a child, I’d never been interested in dolls or the other things girls my age would enjoy, and perhaps it was the lack of others to compare myself to that caused it.
